The golden color. Greasy and oily whisky.

I am not sure what I was expecting but probably not this - it seems pleasantly drinkable but I don't know what it is trying to be - it seems like a Highland malt that has been finished in something sweet

delicious tasty malt with good PLV. You don't taste red wine barrels. Has more of a sherry barrel

At first it seemed like a nice dram, now it's been gathering dust for a while. There's nothing special about it but nothing wrong with it either. But I don't feel the urge to take it out of the cupboard.

complex (sweet and heavy) on the nose and intense in taste, without significant smoke.

One of the better unpronounceable NAS bottlings of Bunna. The wine notes work nicely on this one.

A pleasant drop. No complexity monster, but definitely tasty stuff. The wine comes through well, you can taste the distillery character as well. But you notice the lack of maturity (NAS) - but what can you expect for €50/l

Enjoyable indifference: maybe one to savour before sleep. Matured in French and Italian red ex-wine casks. Non-chill filtered. Not coloured. Fast thick primary legs. Slow thick secondary legs.

Fruity and sweet with maritime notes. A pleasant whisky for beginners.

Hmm, I am normally not a wine casked whisky nut but this one works well. You get some of the wine influence as a topping to the oak flavors and aromas. I am actually pleased to have a liter bottle of this to enjoy over the next few years.

Nothing special... Beautiful finish, but disappointed in mouth. Fresh nose, may be here I feel the wine casks. Not to come back for this dram.

Bunnahabhain Eirigh Na Greine Place of Origin: Scotland Region: Islay Producer and bottler: Bunnahabhain Distillery (Distell Ltd.) Category: Single Malt Series: Limited Edition Release (Travel Retail Exclusive) ABV: 46.3% Volume: 1000 ml Min. excerpt: unspecified Barrels: French red wine Hol. filtration: not carried out Dye: none Nose. Of medium intensity, a slightly closed fresh aroma produces, in addition to the typical tones of sea salt, citrus zest, ginger and walnuts for the distillery, also notes of berries (strawberries with cream, cranberry juice, dried cherries, barberries, raisins and grape juice, black currants), fruits (dried apples, quince), lemonade citro, bready malt notes, chili pepper and subtle phenolic shades in the form of small nuances of smoke. Wine barrels still do not show themselves as brightly as in releases from other manufacturers; here they act more to polish their unique style or have not yet had time to properly “inherit” the DNA of the new make, since it is felt that the whisky is young. Taste. Very pleasant and comfortable density of taste and good balance in its sweet, salty and spicy manifestations. The taste can be distinguished by bready malt, caramel, creamy, lemonade, fruit aspects, tones of sea salt, zest, ginger, pepper, walnut shades, young wood. Berry tones are present, but slightly, rather in the background (however, the more you drink, the more persistently they appear). The taste as a whole echoes the aroma. The aftertaste is of medium duration, dry. This is where red berries and raisins are already showing themselves with might and main. Citrus zest, ginger and sea salt also remain. Summary. The whisky is young, not too complex, but pleasant, giving an idea of the style of the distillery and the work of wine barrels. In any case, all the whiskys that, one way or another, contain Bunnahabhain alcohols and which I have tried (and this includes the Black Bottle and Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition blends and the 12-year-old single malt) personally do not leave me indifferent and are memorable with positive side. Score: 84 out of 100.

Some variety and balance, but not very intense
AXEoftheNORTH9025 feb 2021 9:05 pm
NOSE: Floral, sweet aromas that appear fruity and spicy on the nose. TASTE: The Eirigh Na Greine Single Malt Whisky shows a sweet, slightly sea salt clinging creaminess, which is influenced by a finely developed smoke note. The fruity red wine influence fits perfectly into the Bunnahabhain distillery character. The Bunnahabhain Eirigh Na Greine shows an extremely successful balance and shines with a voluminous body. FINISH: Long with intense aromas and a precise finish.

Both on the nose and palate, I get a lot of spice, along with notes of wild berries and dark cherries. It's not a smoky whisky, but a mineral and robust one. The special cask maturation gives it a certain polish, but you can still tell it's not an old whisky. Unfortunately, for me, it remains too flat in flavor. I had a similar experience with the Ardbeg Smoketrails, for example.

At first I wasn't sure if this one was for me, but persistence pays as I found myself liking it more and more. This Bunna expression is intensely aromatic, with an intruiging bittersweet wine character and aftertaste.
